Mike is a super nice guy that won't jerk you around! He's very quick when your parts arrive. My lady and I both come here for all things Subaru. Little did I know I used to go to his shop in SoCal I years ago! Small world now that we both ended up in Bend, OR years later. 6/18/2019I used Mike to put a Subaru engine in my Vanagon. Its a big job and my van is my baby. First and foremost, I love the new 2.5 engine and the power it has provided. But, what is more important is how someone stands behind their work. Putting an engine in a 25 year old vehicle (that is not the same brand) is going to have tweaking afterwards. No matter how small my issues are (and they are big to me), Mike gets me down to the shop and does all the tweaks free of cost. He stands behind his parts and labor.... including meeting me at the shop on weekends at times. If you are considering a Subaru swap in your vanagon, you can definitely trust Mike and his word.

Took my 2018 Subaru STi in for an Axleback exhaust installation and I couldn't be happier with the service. Mike is amazing at what he does and also very efficient and knowledgeable. The waiting room was also a plus with all the entertainment options to keep me busy. Only taking my Subaru to Subietech from now on, thanks again Mike!

Feeling really fortunate to have found Subietech! Mike's thorough, honest and (bonus) a nice guy! He did what needed to be done, charged a more than fair price, and gave an idea of what might need doing on down the line. He did NOT try to fix or replace things that didn't need fixing yet (which, unfortunately, has been my experience with others in the past).
Good service, fair pricing, nice person to deal with. What more can you ask for?

4/23/2017Just had Mike install an electric trailer brake controller on my 2016 Outback. Cost was way less than other places I checked, and Mike really did go out of his way to talk with me and make sure it was installed right, and exactly the way I wanted. He even pointed out a 'split unit' model of controller that was available, and a much better fit for my situation than the typical controllers. Won't hesitate to bring my car here again!

Finding an honest mechanic isn't easy... and Subaru Tech is a trusted mechanic!!
Not only will they make sure your car is given the best service possible, they also give 200% for customer satisfaction!!
I had an issue with my car, and rather than charge me a ton of money, they spent hours of personal time to research my situation and found that I would actually be better off taking my car to the dealership and have the same service handled under warranty. They could have easily taken advantage of my situation and I wouldn't have known the wiser, instead they treated me like family.
Don't make the mistake of guessing that your mechanic is being honest, take your vehicle somewhere that you too will become part of the family!

Great service Mike is a one man show . I made an appointment with him to get some services done on my Subaru . He showed up at the shop on time and went wright to work on my car . The best part he let me hang around and watch him work . Thanks Mike for the great service I'll be back .

7/10/2015I have a 2013 Outback that stranded us in Bend, Oregon on our way back from Washington to San Diego last week. The throw out bearing had disintegrated, while newish, it was out of warranty. It happened late Friday afternoon just before dealership service depts. closed. Our dealership in Carlsbad, Bob Baker Subaru basically said "you are out of warranty so we don't care....have a good weekend..hahahahah..click"....The dealership in Bend said "love to help you but happy hour is starting, call back in the morning and maybe we can fit you in". Mike said "how can I help? Bring it by first thing in the morning and we'll see what we can do". He diagnosed the throw out bearing in about 12 seconds. Since I was carless, he drove me to the dealership to buy the parts and dropped me at the hotel and he went to work. He did the teardown that day. The next morning he discovered that the dealership had given me the wrong parts. THIS WAS A SUNDAY MORNING AND HE WAS WORKING ON MY CAR!!! Since the parts dept was closed on Sunday I had to wait until Monday morning to tell the dealership that they had pulled the wrong parts.... Part arrived on tues, Mike fixed it, we got on the road and made it home safely. Mike was fast, accurate, professional and cool all at the same time. I had some follow up questions the next day and he was responsive and helpful. All in all he spent much more time than he billed me, between the actual repair, working with Subaru, acting as a taxi driver etc he spent at least 4 more hours than he quoted for the actual repair.
Mike does not have some high tech garage, but somehow from his modest garage he managed to make a large international car company look like a bunch of fools as he did laps around them with his great customer service, fair prices and excellent work.
You will not find a better choice to work on your car than Mike.
Thank you Mike...you saved our butts...but I am still trading in this Suckaru for a Toyota.

8/15/2014Mike is a friendly, experienced guy. He knows Subaru WRX's well.
He replaced my clutch on my '04 WRX. When I came back thinking I may need a head gasket done, he quoted me the lowest price I could find by a margin of a couple of hundred dollars, because I was a repeat customer, and then helped me determine that I actually didn't need to replace my head gasket at all.
He's offered me plenty of free advice over the phone and by e-mail and also provided advice on where to find the cheapest parts to keep repair prices down.Ege S.
